Quick note — Should we be spending more time on color for Dailies?
Some projects have such a tight deadline that sometimes getting to good color first can help those R1 hurdles.
I had a project recently that had a quick turn around. I devised a plan based on the hypothesis that clients just want pretty cool things to post. This sparked me to spend the first day on an overall color adjustment to the footage that to me, looked finished. As R1 was sent, the response was elation mixed with excitement. We ended up skipping the color rounds at the end of picture lock and went straight to posting.
