Few houses have an archive quite like Louis Vuitton's, and fewer still have bags that have outlived the trends they started. This five-part series tells the stories of five of them, narrated by Sophie Fontanel with a Parisian's affection.
An archive is a treasure, but it doesn’t tell a story by itself. As editor on all five episodes, I shaped the house’s photographs, sketches and ephemera into five distinct stories, each paced to Sophie Fontanel’s narration and each clearly part of the same series. On the Alma, I also took on the animation, bringing a design with roots in the 1930s to life with gentle movement that respects the texture of the original material.
